Solar Panels Planning Permission
In England and Scotland you do not need planning permission for Solar PV installations unless they go over a certain size; this is extremely unlikely however for projects on a domestic scale for homeowners and a larger commercial scale for businesses and their buildings, as the size needed to breach planning permission regulations is huge.
If you have a listed property, or your home is in a conservation area or world heritage site, you may have to apply for planning permission. You can contact us for advice on this matter, and one of our experienced consultants can help establish whether planning permission may be needed.
In Wales and Northern Ireland you need planning permission to install solar pv panels. Though there are hints that this may change very soon so we will keep you informed of any changes. If you live or your business is in Wales or Northern Ireland you will need to contact your local authority in order to gain planning permission for solar pv panels.
